Visa Application

Conference participants holding foreign passports may require a Chinese visa for entry into China. Holders of ordinary passports from Singapore, Brunei and Japan are exempted for tourism, business and visiting purposes for stays up to 15 days. Participants can apply for a visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in their residential region. To avoid any uncertainty affecting your attendance, participants are strongly advised to apply for the visa as early as possible, at least one month in advance of your planned travel date.

For most attendees, it is easier to apply for a Tourist ("L") visa; no invitation letter is required for this visa category. For more detailed and up-to-date information, please contact the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country/region.

Invitation Letters

  • The official invitation letter will be issued by the MMA-2027 Conference Organizing Committee (School of Materials Science and Engineering, Guilin University of Technology) after the completion of your full conference registration.
  • The name you provide in the registration form must be exactly the same as it appears on your passport. Any discrepancy between your name on the passport and on your invitation letter or other supporting documents may lead to a delay and/or denial of your visa application.
  • Please note that the MMA-2027 Conference and its organizing committees are only authorized to provide the official invitation letter to support your visa application. The committee is not able to assist with the visa application process beyond issuing this invitation letter. Should your visa application be denied, the MMA-2027 Conference and its organizing committee cannot change the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, nor will the committee engage in any discussion or correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Chinese Embassy/Consulate on behalf of the applicant.
  • The conference registration fee cannot be refunded if your individual visa application is denied.
  • It usually takes around one month for the Chinese Embassy/Consulate to process a visa application. Please complete your conference registration as early as possible to ensure you have sufficient time to complete the visa application process before the conference.
